The Fantasy Conversation Game
A guided conversation designed to help you reveal fantasies, ask better questions, and understand what actually excites each other beneath the surface.
How To Play
You do not need to agree on every fantasy. You do not even need to want to act on them. The point is to become more curious about each other.
Take Turns
One person answers first. The other listens, gets curious, and asks follow-up questions. Then switch.
Don’t Rush to Reality
A fantasy can be exciting without becoming a plan. Explore what makes the idea hot before deciding whether you would ever act on it.
Stay Curious
Try not to defend, judge, persuade, or immediately problem-solve. Your job is to understand your partner better.
Choose 3 to 5 questions from each round, or work through all of them for a deeper conversation.
ROUND ONE
Open the Door
Start with curiosity. These questions are meant to make talking about desire feel easy before you move into more vulnerable territory.
1. What is something you find sexy that you rarely talk about?
2. What kind of attention from another person makes you feel especially desirable?
3. When you imagine us being more sexually adventurous, what part excites you most?
4. Is there something you have fantasized about that you are not sure you would actually want in real life?
5. What is one thing you wish I asked you about more often sexually?
6. What version of yourself tends to appear in your fantasies that you do not always get to express in everyday life?
Before moving on
Tell your partner one thing you learned about them that you did not fully understand before.
ROUND TWO
What Turns You On About It?
Now move beyond the scenario itself. What is the fantasy actually giving you?
7. What feels hotter to you: being desired, being watched, being pursued, having permission, breaking routine, surrendering control, or something else?
8. If another person appeared in one of your fantasies, what about their presence makes the fantasy exciting?
9. How important is the feeling of being chosen or wanted by someone new?
10. Does sharing a fantasy with me make it hotter because we are experiencing it together?
11. What excites you more: anticipation before something happens, the experience itself, or talking about it afterward?
12. Is there a fantasy that sounds extreme on the surface but is actually expressing a much simpler emotional desire underneath?
Before moving on
Choose one fantasy your partner mentioned and ask: “What do you think that fantasy gives you emotionally or erotically?”
ROUND THREE
Bring Another Person Into the Fantasy
You are still exploring imagination. Nothing you say here automatically becomes permission, a boundary change, or a plan.
13. How does it feel imagining me being desired by someone else?
14. What would be exciting about watching me flirt with another person?
15. If we were out together and someone clearly found me attractive, what would you secretly enjoy seeing happen?
16. Would it feel different if the other person knew we were exploring this together?
17. What would make involving another person feel like something we were doing together, rather than something happening between us?
18. Which sounds more exciting to imagine right now: flirting, kissing, a date, watching, sharing an experience together, or simply knowing something happened?
Before moving on
Tell your partner which part of involving another person feels most exciting to you, and which part feels most uncertain.
ROUND FOUR
Where Fantasy Meets Trust
Desire becomes much easier to explore when both people know they can be honest about excitement and discomfort.
19. What part of exploring this fantasy would make you most nervous?
20. What would help you feel secure while still allowing the experience to feel exciting?
21. Is there anything that sounds sexy in fantasy but would currently feel too intense in reality?
22. What would you need from me before, during, or afterward to continue feeling connected?
23. What would make you feel included rather than left behind?
24. What is one boundary you already know would help you relax enough to enjoy exploring?
Before moving on
Name one boundary or reassurance that would make this kind of exploration feel safer without removing the excitement.
ROUND FIVE
What Would You Actually Want?
Now separate what is exciting to imagine from what you might genuinely enjoy exploring.
25. Which fantasy we discussed tonight would you most like to talk about again?
26. Is there anything we discussed that you would enjoy exploring only as fantasy for now?
27. What is one very small step that would feel exciting without feeling overwhelming?
28. Is there something you would enjoy trying together that does not require involving anyone else yet?
29. What would make the next step feel playful instead of pressured?
30. If there were absolutely no expectation that anything had to happen afterward, what would you feel comfortable becoming more curious about?
Before moving on
Choose one thing you would like to keep as fantasy, one thing you would like to talk about again, and one small next step that feels genuinely exciting.
THE DEBRIEF
Before You Finish
End by reflecting on what you learned about each other. You do not need to make a decision or create a plan tonight.
Something I understand better about you now is...
Something I would like to hear more about is...
Something I enjoyed hearing from you tonight is...
You do not need to make a decision tonight. Sometimes the best outcome of a fantasy conversation is simply knowing your partner a little more deeply than you did an hour ago.
